WHAT IS COMPUTER?

 A computer is a device that can perform computations and make logical decisions phenomenally faster than human beings can. Many of today's personal computers can per- form billions of calculations in one second-more than a human can perform in a lifetime. Supercomputers are already performing thousands of trillions (quadrillions) of instructions per second! To put that in perspective, a quadrillion-instruction-per-second computer can perform in one second more than 100,000 calculations for every person on the planet! And these "upper limits" are growing quickly!

COMPUTERS PROGRAMS:

Computers process data under the control of sets of instructions called computer programs. computer programmers. These programs guide the computer through orderly sets of actions specified by people called computer programmers.

DIFFERENCE OF SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE:

SOFTWARE:

•  The programs that run on a computer are referred to as software.
• Software is the set of instruction that enable the hardware to perform the set of instruction.
• Software must be installed in the hardware  to function properly.
• Software is further divided in to two categries.

             1.system software 

              2.Application software.

• Software can be infected by virus.
• software cannot be physically touch but it can be seen and used.
• When it damage it can be reinstalled.

EXAMPLE:

an example of system software is window 12, idobeillustrader , photoshop , Google, chrome , firefox.

• Software can not be physically wear out, ut it can be effected by bugs and glitches.

HARDWARE:

•  A computer consists of various devices referred to as hardware .
• Physical and visible parts of computers is  called as the hardware.
• Hardware is further divided into further main four types.

            Input devices 

            output devices

            secondary storage devices

            Internal Components

• When damage it can be replaced with the new components.
• Hardware is physically on nature it can be seen and touch.
• hardware is not effected by the virus.
• Hardware can physically be damaged such as C.P.U.  and it can be repaired.

EXAMPLE: 

the keyboard, screen, mouse, hard disks, memory, D such as C.PCVDs and processing units.
